Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
Ski or snowshoe from your cabin door. If Columbine’s one-mile loop is too tame for you, there are miles of groomed multi use trails easily accessible from Columbine. Or, ski or snowshoe off-trail on national forest land for a more tranquil experience. Steamboat Lake State Park has groomed non-motorized Nordic trails.
Snowmobiling
There are over 120 miles of groomed trails accessible from Columbine. We have a parking lot for your trailers and sleds behind our General Store. While we don’t allow you to ride directly to your cabin, we have convenient trail access across the road. The local snow club, North Routt Snow Riders maintains the winter trail system (grooming, marking, etc.) so consider joining the club or making a donation! If you don’t have your own machines, try renting from Rocky Mountain Sled Rentals located in the Steamboat Lake State Park. You can even have your sleds delivered to our parking lot!
